"Our oblation is not an action. It is a state of committing one's life to God."

-Autobiography of Venerable Mother Teresa Casini, Foundress

Centennial Message - 1894 - 1994

Oblate Sisters CrossTo Give Thanks for the Past
We Oblate sisters are especially grateful for the inspiration and courage of our Foundress Mother Teresa Casini. Through her, God has graced a religious congregation with the beautiful charism of a life of prayer and reparation for priestly holiness. Each of us is most thankful for the good example of priests, religious, our families and our own community members who helped lead and sustain us in our own vocations.

To Embrace the Present

We Oblate Sisters embrace the present moment with faith and childlike abandonment to God's providence and help. Our sanctification is found in living each moment for the love of God and the persons we encounter. It is our special desire to assist priests with the greatest compassion, and effectiveness in their spiritual growth and ministry.

To Have Hope for the Future

Our hope lies in the enduring and captivating love of God for each of us. We are confident and hopeful that as long as our congregation seeks to remain faithful to the teachings of Mother Teresa Casini and its charism of reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus founded on love, Jesus will bless our institute with continuous dedicated vocations throughout the world, especially in the U.S.

We also have hope that by the faithful living of our special call, priests will flourish both in number and in holiness.

Finally, as a result of this Centennial Year, we hope that a greater awareness has grown among the faithful of the importance of supporting their priests through prayer, encouragement and an expressed gratitude to priests themselves.
